We're interested in hearing from anybody who has been using GPS on cell/smart phones! How does it compare to PNDs like TomTom, Garmin?

While I don't have GPS on my phone, I honestly can't wait for the day when the technology is so good you can have great GPS and cell phone all in one. Having multiple devices can be a real pain. My wish list includes voice recognition for GPS so if I can ask for directions to a location without having to either type in the address or pick it from my Custom POIs folder.

i got garmin mobile xt on my htc touch...i use my phone with my holux bluetooth gps unit..works pretty well except the bluetooth connnection sucks the life out of my phones battery
it looks and sounds just like my dad's zumo 550 on his motorcycle/in his car
the screen is a little small but all in all i like it way better than blackberry maps or google maps (its the only program for windows mobile or any cell phone i've used that has turn by turn voice instruction)
i'm still working out a few things (like the poi's i need) but i'm sure this site will be a good place to start!

How do you download your POIs to your blackberry?

You would actually access them directly through the POIfriend BlackBerry App. Send a request to blackberry [at] poifriend.com and you will get the details you need!

I've been using my Treo 650 and EMTAC softwware. Seems to work pretty well outside of it giving me voice commands to take turns across freeways.. need to take its commands with a grain of slat or common sense. Overall very happy. It was extremely helpful when I was apartment hunting.

I'm using HTC 3G with IGO 8.
It's been great.
Does anyone know how to download POIs on my HTC 3GIGO8?
